Wildfire Preparedness

Wildfires can be scary, but being prepared can help keep you safe. Here are some important things to remember:

  1. Make a Plan and Know Your Plan: Make sure you know two ways to get out of every room in your house. Practice your escape plan with your family regulary.

  2. Stay Informed: Listen to adults and follow their instructions. They will tell you what to do and where to go. They will let you know if you have to leave your home and when it is safe to go back home.

  3. Pack a Go-Bag ('Evac Pack'): Sometime you have to leave home, (evacuate), and go a safer place. Have a small bag ready with your favorite things, like a toy, a book, and some snacks. Don’t forget a flashlight and a bottle of water! Click here for a list of items for your 'Evac Pack' on our Emergency Preparedness page.

  4. Stay Calm: If a wildfire happens, stay calm and stick with your family.

By knowing what to do, you can help keep yourself and your family safe during a wildfire.

Remember, firefighters and other helpers are there to keep you safe as well.
